It's Friday!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

1)  So  I got this ombre nail kit for my birthday on Sunday from one of my wonderful sisters and I'm dying to use it.  Problem is my nails are terrible right now.  Hoping this weekend sometime to go get them done and see if they will use this kit to paint them.

2) Wednesday had a great day with my little family.  Let the boys play outside in their pool and water table all morning, had lunch, then took them swimming at one of their grandparents, napped, then headed to a parade, and finished off  the night with a trip to our ice cream shop Homewood and our nightly cuddle fest.  Wish every day could be that great!

3)  I signed up to run my first full marathon.  I'm freaking out a little bit.  We have about 25 weeks but I'm still nervous as all get out.  I wanted to do a full but was still nervous and some days was thinking I should run another first but this one was nearing selling out so we went for it.  Lucky for us the next day it was sold out! We have a big group going down to Memphis for this one.  Running the full it will be my mom, myself, my sister and my sisters hubby.  Then running the half will be my other sister, and her mother in law.  Since it's a fairly close one of to home we also have some people coming with to watch including my hubby this time.  It should be a fun trip now just to build up to running that stinking far in the next half a year!

4)  I'm so thankful to stay at home most days to get to witness moments like this.  This afternoon before nap, Noah wanted to watch a little TV and of course Carson wanted to, too.  He is Noah's little shadow and copies everything he does so since Noah wanted to lay on the couch with the "circle blanket" he had to too!

5) Feeling extra blessed this week. I got to go on two lunch dates with Matthew this week.  Some days I work I run errands since I don't have the boys but this week I skipped them and went out to eat with him instead.  And my kids are just so darn adorable.  Have had so many cute/ sweet moments with them this week.

Watching a movie before bed one night.  They thought it was so cool to put the pillows on the floor!  Carson wanted to do it the next morning too.

In case you missed it on Instagram, the boys love helping their dad do anything.  Noah got to plant some more seeds in the garden and they both helped water.

Today they were having a blast pulling leaves off the trees and bringing them to me.

High Five for Friday June 7th

1)  I joined Vine awhile ago but never really used it.  My sisters vined while we were in San Diego and I felt left out.  Since I give in to peer pressure easily today I spent some time adding some friends and made my first Vine's.  Search Jennifer Jones to add me.  Also if you Vine, comment with your name so I can follow you back.

2)  Got home safely Tuesday night!  Loved getting to see my boys.  Noah was extra sweet and hugged me a million times, then ran off  to play with his cousins, haha.

3)  Finally after this morning, feel like I have my life back together.  It's amazing what some cleaning and organizing can do for one's stress level, sanity, and ability to breathe!

4)  Got my first run in today since the race on Sunday.  It was only a 4 miler, but I haven't went 4 days without running since I started training so I was mentally ready and craving it.  It wasn't my best run.  My calves don't bother me until I started running, they cramped up a little and my dumb hips are still hurting a little too.  I feel like I shouldn't of been that sore but guess that's running life and my body thought 13 miles was a lot.

5)  My 29th birthday is Sunday!

Also head on over here where I'm giving away a $25 gift card to Old Navy this week.  I love Old Navy for kids stuff but usually find a few things for me too and you can always find coupon codes making it a great place to shop.  Want a chance to win, go enter!

Have a great weekend!

High Five for Friday

It's Friday and I'm about to be a single mom until next Thursday when I leave for San Diego.  My hubby is heading out on a mission trip this evening and won't be back until after I'm gone, our trips overlap each other.
We will miss him and I'm sure we will have some rough moments but we sure have had a great week!
I could go on and on about how cute my kids have been this week.  They seriously have been doing so much growing up lately.  So many  times this week I have just sat, watched them talk and play and just been overwhelmed with thankfulness for them.  They have been killing me with the cutness for sure!

Here goes ...
1)  Tuesday I got my nails filled and picked out a bright pink for my nails.  Seriously in love with it.  I'm pretty sure looking at them brightens my mood!

2)  Wednesday, my sisters and I took my kiddos shopping.  ( we can't really "shop" in our town so we had drove to a town 70 miles away and also stopped at some outlets along the way)   It was great having the my sisters along to talk with and help out with the boys, couldn't have done the whole day alone.  I found some great deals, Gap Outlet was 50% off, AE was 40% most everything at the outlet,  kid stores always have good deals there.  Found some cute stuff for Matthew, the boys and myself including a new swimsuit that I'm a little obsessed with.  Chevron and jewel tone colors, we were meant to be!  You can see a picture of the suit on the side of my blog on my instragram feed if we aren't already friends.
The boys were really good considering the car ride, and the fact that they were constrained to the stroller most of  the day.  By the time they we headed home, they were wiped out.  Here was my the view of the backseat.
Even Aunt Hannah fell asleep!

 3)  Then Wednesday night we went out for dinner and my hubby surprised with an early Anniversary present, a new band to add to my rings!  I had been asking for this since like our first anniversary and he told me I had to wait until 10.  He gave in early, it will be 7 years for us next week.  Can't believe it has been that long, time flies and more on our anniversary later!  The new one is a little bigger than the first one but that's fine with me, I love it!
4)  My boys are best friends and it melts my heart!  God knew what he was doing when he made them so close together.  It can be very stressful and hard at times but also the best thing in the world to see them having fun together.

5)  Loving that I have gotten in lots of cuddles this week.  This week has been one of those rare occasions that actually seem to be happening more often lately where I can just relax and not care about all the little things.  My to-do list is really stacking up.  My house chores aren't done for the week.  I have things that I honestly need to get done as well but instead have been soaking up the sweet time with my boys.
My house is always going to need cleaned but they are only going to be this age now.  Most days I can't seem to grasp that but glad this week I have!

6)  Went and saw The Great Gatsby last night with my wonderful book study friends.  I always have a great time with them.  The movie wasn't what I expected but it was still okay and I was out with  great company so that always helps and the chairs, they were nice!   I got to sit and do nothing for 2 whole hours, can't complain about that!

7)  I have nothing I had to plan for this weekend!  It seems like for so many weeks in a row I have had something that I was getting ready for and this week has been fairly calm.  Thank you!

Have a great weekend,  I will be hanging out solo with my boys!  Hoping for some nice weather because my boys are always happiest outside!

High Five for Friday

1)  Made a trip to the salon to get my hair done.  All blonde this time and a simple trim.  There is something great about freshly done hair.

2)  Recovered from the trip, caught up on sleep, got unpacked and laundry caught up.

3) Had a productive blogging day on Wednesday, got some posts ready ahead of time while we are gone next week.

4)  Lost my food baby that I gained on our Georgia trip and from Easter food.  I hate how I feel like I can eat anything and everything while I'm on vacation.  I hate being full and feeling full, so not sure why I always do it.  But was glad to see it go away.  A few good days is all it takes.  Now to try and have more control next week on our....

5)  I know you are tired of hearing about it, but we leave for Disney in 2 days!  Can't wait to see my boys faces, the castle, the characters, the light parade, the family fun, and the rides.  We are going to have a blast!

High Five for Friday

High Five for.....

1)  Our snow is almost all melted that we got last weekend and I don't plan on seeing it again for awhile like hopefully 9 months!

2)  We made it to Georgia.  We left at 5:30 pm and made it here about 3:40 am. It was a long drive and the boys didn't sleep like we had hoped but we don't have to do it again until Monday.

3) For the next 3 days I get to enjoy spending time with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, 70 Degree temps and break out some sandals!

4)  I have a husband who puts up with my attitude.  I have been stressed and high strung a lot lately and he's done what he can to help.  Getting ready for a trip really gets me in a tizzy.  Thank you babe!

5)  I went and tanned 2x this week.  I just needed wanted a little color.  Boy does it help me feel much better.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter.

High Five for Friday

This weeks High Five for Friday

1)  We live in a small town, hardly anywhere to go shopping.  Yesterday I took off work and  got to go to Champaign, the nearest town with a real mall and stores.  And the best part is I went alone.  I got to go where I wanted, for however long I wanted and got to take my time (for the most part anyway, I did have to get my kids from dayare)

I have been looking for mint jeans and after trying on quite a few pairs I finally found one with a decent fit.  I got some other great stuff too for summer!  It may not be time to wear it yet, but I sure am ready.  Then of course the majority of what I bought was for the boys and mostly Noah.  He doesn't have anything for warm weather at least Carson can wear Noah's stuff from last year.  And I can never go shopping without getting them a few matching shirts!  Love when they match!  We really get the twin comments then.

2)  The weather was awesome today.  We got to go outside!  Noah got a bike for his January birthday and has been riding it in our basement.  He's so good at it (with training wheels of course)
Carson is my super outdoorsy kid.  He's just wild, he loves to run, climb, throw rocks and be a boy!

3)  Got the boys new sunglasses shopping yesterday, they were trying them on  We are heading to Disney in  3 1/2 weeks!

4)  I didn't run this morning, it was cold and dark and I knew it would be warmer later so I ran after dinner instead.  It was 57 degrees out, and it felt great running without all the winter gear on.  I could get used to this!  Apparently I run faster when it's warmer because I got my time down a little bit.

5)  Matthew took Noah to a variety show so Carson and I hung out at home together.  He was a different kid tonight without his brother.  Super happy.  We played, watched some TV, danced, laughed and got to rock him to sleep.  Thinking we should do date nights with the boys more often.

All my high fives are all from yesterday and today but I had some good ones so didn't need to go back any farther, that's good right?

Have a great weekend !

High Five for Friday

Linking up with Lauren today for
I love Fridays, for 1) Because I get to stay home with my boys.  This week I got a bonus because I didn't end up working yesterday, Daycare was closed and I had a boy recovering from the flu, that made for a 1 day work week (I usually only work Tuesdays and Thursdays, in case you wondered)
When I stay home we get to do things like this....Veg out for a few minutes after an extreme pillow fight!

2) I made this super healthy smoothie today with my new Ninja blender.  It was pretty good but I will do a little tweeking. I got  the blender on clearance at Walmart for $20. I was amazed at how awesome the blender worked, much better than the cheapo I've had for years.

3)  I don't normally take self-portraits but did on Wednesday.  I was going to do a What I Wore Wednesday as kind of a joke but decided not to, thought I would include it here instead.   I stayed in yoga pants and a sweatshirt ALL DAY!  The whole family was home and we had a relaxing day and didn't do much.  It was great.  I even went to the store in this to get something I needed for small groups that night.  I thought about getting dressed before our small group kids got here but decided it was already 6:30, there was no point, I stayed comfy instead.   When I said ALL day I meant it.

4)  My weekly chores are done!  ( at least until Monday)  I even grocery shopped early again this week.  I have nothing I have to do this weekend.  Love that feeling!

5)  We survived my 3 year old's first bout with the flu.  He did awesome and hasn't got sick since since early Thursday morning!  So far the rest of the family is still good and hope it stays that way!

I'm ready for the weekend.  We are supposed to have some warmer weather here in Illinois.  The sun is shining.  I have a big run planned for tomorrow and that's it.  Looking forward to a few relaxing days!

Have a great one everyone!

Hive Five for Friday

Linking up with with Lauren from http://www.frommygreydeskblog.com/ for

The biggest High Five was I started a new blog this week.  My husband has been working hard to get it set up for me and I started posting Monday here.  I have been blogging about our family for a few years at www.mattandjenjones.blogspot.com but wanted to try something new.
He did a wonderful job and put up with my indecisiveness on what I wanted.

Now onto 5 More!

1) Got to have a lunch date with my hubby on Tuesday
2) I got the afternoon off work yesterday and had some free time while my boys finished the day at daycare!
3)  Because of that afternoon off, I got the house cleaned and made a quick trip to our "mall"  (If you would see it, you would laugh that I even called it that, but a small town girl goes where she can in between real shopping trips)  and bought a few super cute new clothing items, WAHOO!
4) Took my  two boys grocery shopping this morning, made it to two stores, without a fit from either one and with only 2 extra things they had to have that weren't on my list.
5)  Heading out of town tomorrow to stay with my hubby's twin brother and his family.  Our boys are similar in age, we love hanging out with them but don't get to see them much so excited to get out of town even if it only is for one night!
