Today is the last day for the Spring Link up Party and today's topic is Spring Recipes.

Every spring and summer, I look forward to using the grill again, ice cream and Strawberry pie!

These will all be delicious, but since I'm trying to eat much healthier this year I should probably include some healthy options that are on my Spring Recipes List as well.

I've had lots of fun this week talking about all things Spring. Now if the Spring weather would just get to Illinois, that would be awesome. I'm ready for it and so are my boys. We have had enough days inside!

High Five for Friday

It's Friday.  You know what time it is.....

1)  Wednesday I got to sleep in until 7:15.  I know it's not that late, but for us it is.  Our boys are early birds!  It was awesome!

2)  Also on Wednesday I had scheduled to do a 6 mile run for my half marathon training.   I looked at my phone to check the temp and was dreading it before I began.  The week before 5 miles seemed like it was my max.  I pumped myself up and headed out.  I was ready to give up at .5 miles.  It was cold and really windy.  I pushed through it and made it.  It was the hardest run so far, by a lot but it felt great getting it done. In case you don't believe me, I have proof haha!

3)  Tonight my SIL and her two cutie pie boys are coming to stay with us for the night.   Her boys are close in age to ours.  Noah loves his cousin Micah and can't wait to see him.  We always love hanging out with them.

4)  I bought a new spring purse this week.   Love it!  I may be a little obsessed with mint this year!

5) This week I had Sweet Tart Jelly Beans.  I want to know why they don't make them all year long.  They are too delicious to just have available at Easter and  I made strawberry jello cake.  It's been way too long and now I know why I try not to make things I love , because I simply ate way too much of it.  It was sooo good none the less.  Now both are gone!  I can pretend I'm a healthy eater again for a few days.
Started this post  last last night and just getting it finished.  I feel like a rockstar today, I have been rather productive this morning.  It's been awhile since I've had a day like this.  I did the elliptical for 30 min, ran 2 miles, got ready, went grocery shopping  and  just made Cheeseburger Soup, Lasagna Soup, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Homemade bread is in the bread machine for supper tonight.  Now I'm pooped and going to enjoy the quiet while my boys nap!

Have a great weekend!

Beyond Blessed

Happy early Easter!
These pictures were taken last weekend and our wonderful photographer put a teaser online that  I just couldn't wait to share.

Aren't my boys just stinking cute?

My oldest Noah is 3 and starting to really act like a big brother.  Carson is at that fun age where he is into everything, won't sit still and there is no way to reason and rationalize.  Noah just kept staring at the camera, saying cheese with his silly smile while we tried to snap shots in between Carson moving all over instead of sitting still for the camera.

Having 2 boys 20 months apart, is challenging, but rewarding.  I love watching them talk, play and interact with each other  and it blesses me so much.  I love to see Carson trying to be just like his older brother and I love to watch Noah try and take care of Carson and be sweet with him.

This morning Carson woke up first and cuddled with me on the couch for a few minutes but didn't wait too long before he was ready to get up and wanted to go find "Woah" as he calls him. He follows him around and laughs at everything he does.

Last night Carson wasn't acting like himself (he had shots earlier in the day) and Noah was being sweet, rubbing his back, and brought him the Ipad and instead of putting on something that he liked, he put on Elmo for Carson, and sat by him.
One of those moments you just want to freeze and squeeze them to death.

Wouldn't trade my family for the world!

Spring Cleaning

I'm a cleaner.  I'm one of those weird people who actually enjoy it, I just don't usually have the time/ chance to do it to the extent that I would like to.  Ironically enough this week though I have not been in the mood but that's besides the point.  Not only do I like cleaning but I also sell Norwex which their main product is  microfiber cloths that you use water only and they have multiple other products as well that  helps saves time while cleaning, saves money and is much better for my family and I as far as health goes.  I am all about reducing the amount of chemicals in my home and Norwex has greatly helped me do that over the last year.

I have a cleaning schedule that I use every week.  I have worked through different methods and finally have one that works well for us!

In the beginning of motherhood I was stressed and overwhelmed that I didn't ever just have a day to clean the house.  Before kids I always took my day off, or a night and cleaned the whole house and it was done until the next week (except for those things that sometimes couldn't wait a week and the tile floor and vacuuming that I did multiple times a week because I was a little OCD)  Then I developed a plan.  I had set household chores that I was to do each day. It seemed like a good idea, that way I had little bits to do each day and could do it when kids allowed.  Well I found myself getting grumpy if my chores/ chore wasn't getting done when I wanted it to and when the schedule said it should.

I decided to restructure and made a cleaning checklist for myself with boxes to check off and spaces for dates that broke the chores down into:  Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Quarterly.  I put it in a frame so that way it made it dry erase.  I don't even bother checking off the daily items but use the weekly one each week.  I love marking items off. I usually also write a letter for the day of the week that I did it just so I know when I did it because my memory is terrible.  Then I do the same for the other categories, mark them off once I do them and the ones that are less frequent I just date it so I know when the last I did it was.  (I'm not very good at keeping on the quarterly items because those are the things I just don't like to do like cleaning baseboards, doors, cabinets you know the really  time consuming ones)

This way has been much better for me.  I don't feel tied down to certain things on certain days.  Some weeks I have everything marked off by Wednesday and others like this week I haven't even started.  But each week is different and that's life.

I couldn't get my schedule to import onto the blog but put it on Google Docs so in case you were interested here is our general family cleaning checklist HERE

Then onto what I'm actually supposed to be  talking about Spring Cleaning.
I don't generally do "Spring cleaning".  I"m more a do things when they really need done and when we get to them type of person.  I stress easily, I have to keep my expectations low otherwise all I do is focus on what I think needs done instead of what is really important in the moment.

I would like to try attempt to do a little more "spring cleaning" in the next few months.  I do fine with the ordinary chores but need to catch up on some of those tasks you just don't generally think of or notice until they get gross.  Pinterest has a bunch of checklists and here are two I really liked to help be a guide.  There are some things I didn't think about but things that should get done.

Doesn't looking at these lists overwhelm you a little?  Sure does me.   After I really started reading each one you realize a lot of them aren't time consuming so you could knock multiple ones out in a fair amount of time.
Happy Spring Cleaning Everyone!

How Pinteresting

Linking up again with  The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting well because I love Pinterest!

The other day I was trying to think of some things I could do with my boys and searched Kids.  You can expect in the near future we will be using some of these ideas.

How fun is this?

My boys are still young but I love the idea of a schedule for us of a different thing to do each day.  I can be lazy, sometimes I need a schedule to get me motivated and on track.  This would help keep me more active with them.

Who doesn't want FREE things to do and still able to have fun?

My older son, loves my wallet.  I would love to do this.  Probably just another pin and never my reality but don't they say sometimes the thought it what matters?
Tutorial found here

We redecorated our living room not too long ago and I am still in need of some bookcases.  We haven't talked about them in awhile but I saw this and need to show the hubs.  Maybe a spring project for him so we finally have something at the base of our massive wall?

And then paint them in a fun color to match our room?  I absolutely love the color furniture movement.  And if Matthew makes  the bookcases it would be a great thing to paint I'm thinking instead of an expensive piece .

I don't know where to do this, but I love it.  I would do a different word but love the idea.

Someday I would love to get our basement all cuted up.  I'm saving this as an idea!

My birthday is in June, I think this would be a great gift.  (ahem Matthew)

Who doesn't love Smores?  And we only get to eat them such a short time out of the year.  I bought the stuff to make these today.  Hoping they are delicious!

Easter is right around the corner.  I want to find some ways to bring out the true meaning of Easter to our boys, but this is a fun thing we could do too!

Those are my favorite pins from the week.  Happy Wednesday!

Spring Wreath

It's show and share Wednesday.  Linking up today Semi Homemade Mom

Last week I posted some pictures of some wreaths I liked in this post here and wanted to make but needed help on deciding which one.

I thought I finally had decided, went to Hobby Lobby turned undecided and spent an hour in there walking around aimlessly.  The flowers weren't on sale.  I'm pretty sure they are always on sale except for when I want them.  I didn't want to have to buy full price flowers, especially not $8 hydrangeas, a $70 wreath was not in my budget.

I knew I had a bunch of pink flowers I liked at home leftover from my sisters bridal shower so I decided not to buy any flowers and ended up leaving Hobby Lobby with a wreath form and a letter J.  (both of which I could of gotten at home and not at Hobby Lobby 75 minutes away from home)

Regardless of wasting some time and being frustrated for an hour trying to make a decision I did get home and get a wreath made.  It worked with what I had, was cheap, quick and easy and turned out great!

Here she is, my new spring wreath......

My last one sure had a long run.  I made it last spring, planned on making a new fall/winter/ Christmas/ Easter one and never did so it has been hanging there for the majority of the last year!  I love looking at wreaths on Pinterest for some reason.  It's a weird obsession.  We will see how long this one lasts.  It's definetly a spring/ summer one so will have to replace this one sooner than the last.

Here's the rundown of how simple this wreath was.
Supplies-  Straw wreath form, Burlap wired ribbon (found mine at Wal-mart), wooden letter, white paint, flowers, push pins and hot glue gun.

First I wrapped the wreath in the burplap ribbon and used push pins at the start and ending spots.  Then I pinned the flowers on the one side.  Painted the letter J white, then once it dried put it on with some hot glue and lastly pinned a few flowers around the letter and viola!  Quick and Easy, my kind of diy project since I have the patience and attention span of my 3 year old.

Are  there any Spring crafting projects on your list?  Would love to hear about them!

Spring Bucket List

There are linky parties going on all over  the place but since I am anxiously awaiting Spring to actually arrive here in Illinois this one got me excited.  And also isn't the button just adorable?  Love the flowers used!  I'm such a sucker for cute graphics, now only if I could learn how to create them!
Today I'm linking up with these awesome blogging ladies for ......

Sunday Social Link Up- March 17th

Linking up today with......

Here are this weeks questions

1) Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?  Blog, read blogs, nap, browse Pinterest.  Pretty much be lazy!

2) Favorite thing to do on a summer weekend?  Go to Homewood  which is our little local ice cream stand.  It's amazing!  Strawberry flavor burst with twinkle coating or Cookie Dough Shake and More, thank you!  However, bad news I think dairy is starting to get to me so will have to cut back this year.  I also love going for walks at night and grilling out.

3) Favorite Spring Accessory?  I'm not sure on this one.  My first thought was sandals or flip flops but they aren't really an accessory for sake of this questions I'm going to say they are!  I guess I also love getting a bright colored purse.  This year I want a mint or coral, can't decide which one!

4) Favorite way to spend winter day?  The same as rainy day but also in sweats and sweatshirt cozied up on the couch with a blanket.  I also love hot chocolate so sometimes add that in too.

5)  What is your favorite season and why?  Easy, I love fall.   I love the coolness after the summer heat for so long.  I love opening windows and just being outside after it starts to cool down.  I"m wimpy, I don't like extreme heat or sweating so I usually stay indoors a lot towards the end of summer.  I love the change of seasons so I have different clothes to wear as well.  I love the start of cozy foods, apple crisp and baking again!

6) Best Birthday I ever had?   Is it sad that I don't have a favorite?  The only two I can remember at this moment are 1 when I was really young and had a pool party at our house and I just remember it because of pictures.  And then 2 when I turned 20 my friend at the time (husband now)  turned a campout out into a "surprise" birthday party for me.  I'm not a big birthday person.  It's just another day.  Get me Strawberry jello cake, or a Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake and I'm good.

That's it for today!

Happy Sunday!  I'm supposed to be running 3 miles today.  Really not feeling like it in the cold and windy weather.  So this has been my procrastination!
